Heritage Engineering: NSERC CREATE Training Program

NSERC CREATE Heritage Engineering is funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) as part of their Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) Program. The program addresses the challenges of training Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) in the multidisciplinary and inter-related fields of building rehabilitation, architectural conservation, and sustainability. The program offers specialized training in the disciplines of Civil, Industrial, and Systems Engineering and Architecture — with a cross-disciplinary focus on environmental science and technology. This program, unique in Canada, bridges a recognized gap between the education of engineers and the rapidly advancing technologies being developed for the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry for applications in the rehabilitation and sustainability of our existing building stock.
