Glasgow's great glass experiment

The chapters of this book are modified and expanded versions of papers that were given by the six contributors to a conference organised jointly by the Glasgow School of Art and Historic Scotland, on 2 September 2000. The purpose of that conference was to contribute to the process of re-evaluation of the stained glass that had ben made for Glasgow Cathedral by the konigliche Clasmalereianstalt (The Royal Bavarian Stained Glass Establishment of Munich), and that represented one of the most significant episodes of Scottish art patronage of the central years of the 19th century.
