Project Anqa
CIMS built a website and interactive virtual tours for Project Anqa, a multi-partner initiative to document seven built heritage sites in Damascus, Syria: Al-‘Azm Palace, Ananias Chapel, Bimaristan Nur al-Din, Hammam Nur al-Din, Khan As‘ad Pasha, Madrasa al-Jaqmaqiya, and Tekkiye Süleymaniye.
Architects and engineers from the Syrian Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums (DGAM) digitally recorded the sites under the guidance of CyArk, who processed the resulting data for its transfer to CIMS. CIMS implemented the data, including 360˚ photographs and point cloud data from laser scanning to create virtual tours for each of the seven sites. The tours were presented on a website designed and built by the CIMS team.
In addition to creating the Project Anqa website and virtual tours, CIMS facilitated making all site data available for free, open access download, according to the mission of the project funder, Arcadia.
