Muskowekwan Residential School
With permissions from the Muskowekwan Band Council, researchers from CIMS used laser scanning to record the current condition of the Muskowekwan Indian Residential School (IRS). The residential school has a long history dating back to the 1880s. The current building, constructed in 1930, was labelled one of the top ten endangered places in Canada by the National Trust for Canada. The gathered point cloud data is used to create a Building Information Model (BIM). The model will be adopted for the communicating the history of the site and will help the Muskowekwan First Nation towards their goal of rehabilitating the school.
