Alexander Fleck House Conservation Project

In collaboration with Henry Investments, a local real estate and property development company and Mitacs Accelerate, the Alexander Fleck House Document Project consists of recording the as-found condition of a historic residence situated in downtown Ottawa, prior to a planned adaptive reuse project. The historic residence features many elements of tangible heritage specific to the Scottish Fleck family, who were the original owners.

The Carleton Immersive Media Studio used photographic and laser scanning data to develop a Building Information Model, a set of measured drawings, including plans and elevations with orthometric images, a panoramic tour, and a Virtual Reality experience of the site. The measured drawings and high-resolution orthometric images of the site present a record of existing conditions to a high level of detail, including important assets such as stained-glass windows, interior wood panelling, and decorated surfaces.
