Digital 210 King: Building Information Model

While the value of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the planning and production of new architectural projects is generally recognized by AEC professionals, the suitability of these technologies for the modification of existing buildings is not widely accepted. Contrary to prevailing arguments, we propose that BIM can play a significant role in the inter-related demands of architectural conservation, adaptive reuse, and ecologically responsible renovation.

CIMS is collaborating with Autodesk Research in order to develop a digital model of the Autodesk office building in Toronto using Building Information Modelling (BIM).
