Phase two allows viewers to navigate through areas of the Centre Block not normally accessible to the public, including the chambers of the Speaker of the Senate, which is normally off-limits to the public, and the Salon de la Francophonie. As in phase one of the tour, clickable hotspots allow viewers to explore the architectural and design details of these spaces through text, images, and 3D animations.

Switching to the code-based software, KRPano, allowed the team to create a faster, smoother tour with more customized features—such as the ability to easily create French and English versions of the tour—yet with double the content of phase one. The team also used this opportunity to refine their tour-building techniques, reflected in the higher-quality renderings and more ambitious examples of photogrammetry seen in phase two.
By partnering with Senate Communications to create this virtual tour, CIMS is continuing its work to keep the Centre Block accessible to Canadians throughout its ten-year closure for rehabilitation.
