CIMS in the Globe and Mail
On January 30, Stephen Fai and CIMS were featured in an article in the Globe and Mail discussing the creation of the Centre Block Building Information Model (BIM).
CIMS has been an enthusiastic partner in the rehabilitation of the Parliament buildings since 2013. As a product of this partnership, the Centre Block BIM represents Carleton University’s commitment to innovative methods of heritage conservation, as well as many hours of dedicated work by the CIMS team.
Besides digital modelling, this work has included finding new uses for BIM outside of traditional architectural practice, such as in virtual reality, online tours, and other digital projects highlighting the built environment.
